By day I’m a mother of 4 adult kids and wife to a seriel entrepreneur, fuelled by good coffee and conflicting thoughts on the world around us.
By chance, if chance exists, I moonlight as PRO for a community campaign that’s now in it’s 22nd year of dogged fighting against a commercial effort to build a large hazardous waste incinerator in Cork Harbour. 3 planning applications, 2 EPA applications, 4 Oral Hearings, 3 High Court Cases, 2 European Court Challenges, a groundbreaking finding of Bias at the High Court against Bord Pleanala, and – critically – no incinerator. Yet. Still, the game continues.
Here I give voice to some of the emotions that pave the road of what feels like thousands of press releases and ongoing battles and to the tools and skillsets, both technological and survivalist, that sustain travel down roads that challenge.
For sanity I make things. Nothing brings connection to the present like a concept imagined in my head made real by my hands.
